Okay, so around half a year ago I became acquainted with Scribe and his IY fan fiction, particularly the infamous, too-good-to-be-true “If You Need Her”. Now, as most people are aware, really, really, really good IY fanfic are nigh impossible to find, so in my giddiness I vowed to myself (okay, so he brought it up first) that I would do a CG to forever commemorate his fic’s utter kick-ass-ness. And so I started a sketch of the newly resurrected Miroku pulling himself out of his grave, armed with nothing but the ghost of a memory of a girl with brown hair and sad eyes. And then the sketch became two sketches...and then I changed my drawing style and had to redraw it...and then I changed my coloring style...and then I couldn't fit the two together and decided that they would be better apart...and then I started college...and then...well, you get the idea. (This is also why probably why I can’t accept fanart requests—if this one is any indication, it’ll take half a year for me to finish one. Though if I could, I’d make CGs for every good M/S fanfic out there. Really.)

But when you find excellent fanfiction, it stays with you, and I always came back to tinker with the CG everytime I re-read the story. Plus, Scribe’s that rare kind of writer whose work actually makes me, untalented, uncouth wordsmith that I am, want to write a fic of my own. (Of course, I never end up finishing any, but for some reason every time I read something he’s written I find myself opening up that Word document again. Curse you and your talent, Scribe!) And so, after months of postponing and changing, I finally came up with something that I’m not entirely unproud of. It took a while, but I hope that it’s a worthy tribute to one of my two favorite IY fanfic authors (the other being Nana-chan).

Now go out there and read up on all of his stuff. Twice. And weep at the goodness. And characterization. And diction. And...
